San Antonio – Car vs Moving Truck Accident on Babcock Rd

Early Monday morning, an auto collision involving a moving truck was reported in the Medical Center area on Babcock Road.

Just after 5:00 a.m., San Antonio local troopers responded to an accident at the intersection of Babcock and Medical Drive on the Northwest Side. Police said a red 2019 Honda Accord was being pulled over by police for a traffic violation. As he attempted to ran away from the police, he ignored a red light and ended up in the patch of a moving truck. The Honda was pinned underneath the truck, killing its driver instantly. Bystanders tried to extricate the victim out of his car but were unable to get him out.

He was later identified by authorities as Santos Martinez, 22.

The cross street was temporarily closed down as officers investigated the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
