At least one person was killed in a car accident on US Highway 67 Wednesday morning.

According to initial reports, the fatal wreck took place at around 4:45 a.m. A 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading north on Highway 67 when, for undetermined reasons, it collided with a southbound 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The San Angelo Police Department is still determining the cause that prompted the pickup truck to cross lanes.

45-year-old Sierra driver was pronounced dead by judge Eddie Howard. He was later identified as Rogelio Castellanos, a resident from San Angelo. The driver of the pickup truck was not immediately identified. It was not confirmed if he sustained injuries from the impact of the collision.

No other details were available. The investigation of the crash was turned over to Texas Department of Public Safety.

Our deepest sympathies to the victims of this unfortunate event. We strongly believe that the Lubbock Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.
Being a victim of a collision is an overwhelming experience. If you are a passenger in a car involved in crash, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention for yourself and anyone who needs it. After this, you’ll want to alert your insurance provider regarding damages or injuries you sustained from the collision. To submit a claim, you would need to gather documents supporting your claim. These may include a video of the scene or a photograph of the damages to the vehicles, police reports stating the facts of the accident, and medical records indicating the severity of your injury, to name a few.
