San Angelo – DUI Crash on North Oaks Street

A 28-year-old man died after getting hit by a car on North Oakes Street, according to a local news source.

The fatality was identified as Johnell Hornsby, 28.

At around 1:30 a.m., police responded to 1200 block of North Oakes Street after they received a call reporting a DUI collision. According to the report, a speeding 2014 Dodge Dart was heading north on North Oakes when it left the roadway and struck Hornsby. The Dodge continued on and hit a utility pole and a sign. The impact of the crash seriously injured Hornsby. He was pronounced deceased by local paramedics.

The driver of the Dodge was taken into custody on suspicion of intoxication. His identification has not yet been released at this time.
