Rosenberg – Tractor-Trailer Overturned on Highway 59

A driver was sent to the hospital after a major vehicle accident on Highway 59 in Rosenberg last Friday.
According to the initial investigation, a big rig carrying tons of meat was seen traveling along the highway when it went out of control and rolled over. Police said another vehicle cut the tractor-trailer off causing the driver to hit the brakes abruptly. An approximate of 40,000 pounds of meat were scattered on the roadway as the big rig flips over. Its driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His identification was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Authorities did not provide information about the driver of the other vehicle. Whether or not he was hurt remains unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
