Robinson – 1 Died in Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on US 77

The Robinsons Police Department is investigating a truck crash on Highway 77 that caused the death of one person, Tuesday.

According to initial reports, a semi-truck was seen traveling along the highway when it crossed the center line and onto the opposing traffic. The semi-truck then crashed into a sport utility vehicle (SUV). Police said that the semi-truck suffered a tire blowout which caused the vehicle to go out of control.

The impact of the crash killed the driver of the first vehicle. His identification has not been released at this time. Meanwhile, the SUV driver sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities said he was listed in critical condition.

No one else was injured.

Local investigators were also requested at the scene to determine liability. An investigation is underway.
