Robertson County – Man Dies Following a Car Accident on FM 979

Last Thursday, a fatal vehicle collision on Farm to Market 979 Road caused the death of one person, according to Department of Public Safety.
In an unspecified time in the afternoon, a semi-truck was seen traveling along the eastbound lanes when, for reasons that had not been determined, it drifted onto the opposing lanes and collided with a semi-truck. Police said that the truck tried to avoid the wrong-way vehicle but to no avail.
The impact of the collision killed the driver of the first vehicle. His identification has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. Fortunately, the semi-truck driver did not sustain any injury.
Law enforcement officials are still determining what caused the first vehicle to go into the opposite lanes. The crash remains under investigation.
