Richardson- DART Train collision at the Buckingham Road crossing

One killed while several were injured in a collision involving a DART train at the Buckingham Road crossing near the Spring Valley Station.
At around 6:00 a.m., a car reportedly went beyond the crossing arms where it was struck by a Red Line train that was heading north.
The impact of the collision left the car in a total wreck. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification was not released.
Several passengers on the train suffered from different injuries. One sustained a serious injury while the other suffered from back and neck injuries. They were immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another passenger was also hurt and was treated at the scene.
It remains unknown where the driver of the DART train was hurt.
Authorities were requested at the scene to further investigate the crash.
