Rains County – 62-year-old Gary Michael Bishop Died Following a Fatal Pedestrian Accident on SH 19

Rains County law enforcement officials have identified the pedestrian who got struck by a vehicle on State Highway 19, Monday morning.
The fatality was identified as Gary Michael Bishop, 62, of Emory.
According to the report, Bishop was attempting to cross SH 19, at around 6:15 a.m., when a 2017 Dodge Charger that was traveling along the southbound lane struck him. The impact of the crash left the victim with serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene and was transported to Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs.
The driver of the Dodge was identified as Laura J. Fair, 43, of Sulphur Springs. It was not confirmed if he was injured.
