Potter County – US 87 Crash Victim Identified

The identification of the victim who died in a rollover accident on US 87 has been released by Texas Department of Public Safety officials, Tuesday night.
Officials identified the victim as 33-year-old Travis Arbuckle.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. on the northbound lane of US Highway 87, north of Amarillo. A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado had been traveling north when it drifted off the roadway and crashed into the center median. When its driver, Travis Arbuckle, tried to overcorrect the pickup truck, he ended up losing control of the truck, ejecting him in the process.
The impact of the collision instantly killed Arbuckle. He was pronounced deceased by local responders.
Amarillo law enforcement officials initiated the investigation. They believe that speed may have played a role in the crash.
