Potter County- Injuries Reported Following a Auto Accident on Interstate 40

The Amarillo Police Department is conducting an investigation regarding a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 40 in Amarillo, last Tuesday.
According to the report released by responding officers, the incident took place at around 3 p.m on I-40 near the Potter and Carson County line. Police did not release further details about the collision but they confirmed that it involved at least two semi-trucks.
One person was seriously hurt as a result of the crash. He was airlifted to an area hospital where he received treatment of his injuries that were considered life-threatening. His identification has not been released.
Local investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability. All eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 have been closed and traffic is being diverted onto the service road.
