Polk County – Truck Driver Died in Fatal Crash on US 59

The Polk County local officials are investigating a truck collision on US Highway 59 which killed at least one person, Monday afternoon.
According to reports released by a local news source, the incident took place on US 59, just four miles north of Corrigan. At around 1:25 p.m., a 2013 Peterbilt semi-trailer had been traveling along the southbound lane of the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it crashed into a concrete barrier and went off the roadway. It continued on and hit a wood line and rolled over before coming to rest.
The impact of the collision killed the driver instantly. He was only identified as a 58-year-old male driver from Alto. No other injuries were reported at this time.
Authorities have yet to release more information about the cause of the accident.
