Polk County – 1 Killed, 2 Injured in Vehicle Crash on US 190

A fatal car accident on Highway 190 caused the death of one person and injured two people, Saturday night.
Just after 10:00 p.m., local troopers were dispatched at U.S. 190, about two miles west of Livingston, in response to a call reporting an auto accident. According to initial reports, a 2008 Ford was seen traveling along the westbound lane of the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it drifted onto the opposing lanes where it collided head-on with a 2012 Jeep SUV.
Authorities said that the driver and a passenger in the Jeep sustained injuries as a result of the crash. They were both transported in hospitals–one in Conroe while the other in Livingston–where theyr received medical treatment. No identification has been released at this time.
The driver of the Ford was rushed to a hospital in Conroe where he later died.
Authorities arrived at the scene to investigate further.
