Pittsburg – Jason Ray Gilmore Rider Died in DUI Crash on Loop 179

A motorcycle rider was killed after colliding with a drunk driver on Texas 179 near County Road 2106.

Police said the rider who died was identified as Jason Ray Gilmore, 43.

Last Thursday, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck entered the intersection of Loop 179 near CR 2106 and collided with a 2002 Honda motorcycle driven by Gilmore. The force of the impact was so great, killing Gilmore at the scene. Based on an initial investigation, the driver of the pickup truck, Joseph Mickael Agundiz, 27, failed to yield the right of way which may have played a role in the crash.

Agundiz was charged with intoxication manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He was booked into the Camp County Jail.

No one else was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
