Pittsburg – DUI Crash on Texas 179 Leaves 1 Dead

A suspected DUI crash on Texas 179 caused the death of one person, Thursday.
According to Pittsburg local officials, the incident took place at the intersection of Loop 179 near County Road 2106. A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling on the said cross streets when it failed to give way to a 2002 Honda motorcycle which prompted the collision. The rider of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency crews. His identity was not immediately determined. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup was identified as Joseph Mickael Agundiz, 27. He was taken to the Camp County Jail for intoxication manslaughter and tampering evidence charges. He was not hurt.
No one else was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
