PEARLAND, TX – The pilot of a small plane was killed after the aircraft crashed at Pearland Regional Airport this afternoon, according to KHOU.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m., after a PZL-104 Wilga aircraft had landed at the regional airport. There may have been a problem with the landing gear, as after the plane landed, it continued until it crashed into a nearby embankment, then into another runway.
The pilot, a man from Alvin, died at the scene.
A female passenger was able to walk away from the crash without serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by multiple agencies, including the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
