Pharr—Hit-and-Run Crash on West Albatross Avenue

The Pharr Police Department is conducting an investigation regarding a hit-and-run collision on West Albatross Avenue, Friday afternoon.
At around 1:15 p.m., local officers responded to a fatal collision at the 500 Block of West Albatross Avenue. According to initial reports, a driver of a blue passenger vehicle caused a disturbance at the said block. During the dispute, a vehicle sped away with the blue car, hitting a child in the process.
The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. His identification has yet to be released.
Police later located the driver who fled the scene, who was identified as Brandon Arame. He has since been cited for injury to a child serious bodily injury causing death by a Pharr municipal judge. He was arraigned a day after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a child who later died, according to police. Bond for Arame was set at $250,000.
