Pflugerville – Father of 3 Killed in Tragic Crash on Pecan St

A 32-year-old driver passed away after a deadly truck crash on Pecan Street last October 10.

At around 3:00 p.m., a FedEx truck was traveling along the westbound lane of Pecan Street, near State Highway 130, when it crashed into the protective barrier on the bridge for yet unknown reasons. The force of the impact ejected its driver, leaving him with fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

The fatality was later identified as David Germick, 32. He was a resident of Round Rock. His family said he was a war veteran who served in four combat tour deployments as an Army paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division.

The Pflugerville Police Department has yet to determine the reason why Germick struck the barrier. An investigation is underway.
