Pedestrian killed in Bellfort Ave. hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – Police are searching for the driver responsible for fatally striking a pedestrian in Houston’s South Park neighborhood on Sunday.

According to a report by HPD, the unidentified pedestrian was crossing Bellfort Avenue. mid-block near Swallow Street when he was hit by a blue Nissan Sentra.

The driver of the Nissan stopped at a nearby parking lot, exited the vehicle, and escaped on foot. His female passenger then drive the vehicle to another location.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle was located some time later. However, no arrests have been made as of this writing.
