Pedestrian killed by vehicle after running onto IH-10 in east Houston

HOUSTON, TX — One person was fatally hit by a driver Thursday morning while running into traffic on the East Freeway near Houston’s Greens Bayou area, reports Click2Houston.
Houston Police said the crash happened on the inbound freeway approaching Normandy Street at approximately 5:08 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a pedestrian ran out in front of an oncoming vehicle and was fatally hit.
The driver remained at the scene after calling police.
Motorists were told to avoid the area as all inbound lanes were closed during the response.
