Pedestrian injured by hit-and-run driver on IH-45 in north Houston

HOUSTON, TX — One person was hospitalized Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on the North Freeway near Houston’s Independence Heights area, reports ABC13 Houston.

Houston police responded to the scene on the inbound lanes of the freeway at Airline Drive at around 12:30 p.m.

No information has been released regarding the circumstances behind the crash, but authorities said a driver in a white four-door vehicle hit the pedestrian and fled the scene.

The victim suffered undisclosed injuries and was rushed to an area hospital.

An investigation remains ongoing. Authorities said the suspect sedan should have heavy front-end damage.
