Pedestrian fatally struck by HPD officer while attempting to flee

HOUSTON, TX – A male suspect was fatally struck by an HPD officer while attempting to flee on foot Sunday night.
According to a report by HPD, the crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. within the 10100 block of Bissonnet Street, east of the Sam Houston Tollway.
The 69-year-old victim who was wanted in a Vice investigation attempted to cross the street and was hit by an HPD cruiser. The unidentified man was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he died a short time later.
The officer involved was unhurt.
