Pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver on Lillja St

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Lillja Street late last night, according to information from KTRK.

The crash happened in the 15500 block of Lillja Street, near Aldine Bender Road, at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, when pedestrian Rosa Cruz was struck by the driver of what may have been a 2016-2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Cruz was found unresponsive in a ditch the next morning, and was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

Authorities continue to search for the at-fault driver at this time.
