Pedestrian fatally hit by multiple cars on IH-10 near the Heights

HOUSTON, TX — One person died late Thursday night after being struck by multiple vehicles on the Katy Freeway near Houston’s Woodland Heights area, reports KHOU11.

Houston police said the collision took place on the eastbound lanes of the freeway (IH-10) near Taylor Street at around 11:30 p.m.

Authorities said they believe a pedestrian darted out onto the main lanes of the freeway, where they were fatally hit by more than one car.

Fews details have been reported at this time, but all of the involved drivers stayed after the incident and cooperated with the investigation. They were not suspected of impairment, and no charges have been filed at this time.

The freeway was closed in the area for several hours during the emergency response.

An investigation was underway early Friday morning.
