HOUSTON, TX — A 40-year-old woman died Wednesday night after being struck by two vehicles on North State Highway 6 near Addicks Reservoir in northwest Houston, reports Houston Police Department.

HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the fatal incident occurred in the 1200 block of the highway, in a dark and wooded area of the reservoir, at around 9:45 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was walking in the far right lane when she was hit by a blue Toyota Corolla. Moments later, she was also struck by a black Dodge Journey.

Responding medics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities said both drivers stayed and waited for emergency crews to arrive. After an evaluation, neither driver was suspected of impairment.

An investigation remains ongoing.
