HOUSTON, TX — A man died late Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the North Sam Houston Houston Parkway service road in northeast Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal incident took place in the 7600 block of the parkway’s northbound service road, near U.S. Highway 90, at about 9:55 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2019 Ram 1500 was heading northbound in the number 2 lane when the pedestrian walked westbound across the service road, failing to yield to the vehicle’s right-of-way. Moments later, he was hit by the front-left of the Ram 1500.
Medics rushed the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
An investigation is being led by the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division.
