Pedestrian fatally hit by big rig on S Sam Houston Pkwy in SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man died Wednesday night after being struck by an 18-wheeler on the South Sam Houston Parkway near southwest Houston’s Blue Ridge neighborhood, reports NTV Houston.
Houston police said the fatal incident took place near the South Post Oak Road intersection.
Little information has been provided at this time, but an early investigation indicates a driver in a gas tanker truck was performing a U-turn when a male pedestrian entered the roadway from off a curb and was hit by the vehicle.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
