Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run collision in Houston’s Gulfgate area

HOUSTON, TX — A man died Monday evening after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing a road in southeast Houston’s Gulfgate/Pine Valley area, reports Houston Police Department.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the fatal incident occurred in the 4300 block of Telephone Road at around 6:40 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was walking across the road when he was hit by a gray Dodge Dakota pickup truck going southbound.
Medics rushed the victim to Memorial Herman – Texas Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
As of this writing, authorities still have not located the suspect driver, but an investigation was underway.
