Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle on SH-288 near South Side

HOUSTON, TX — A man was killed Monday evening when he was struck by a driver while walking near State Highway 288 in Houston’s South Side area, reports FOX 26 Houston.

The crash occurred on the southbound highway near Yellowstone Boulevard at around 6:30 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the accident, or whether the man had been walking in the traffic lanes.

Authorities closed all southbound lanes at the intersection as an investigation was conducted.

No further details have been released.
