Pecos – Faben Woman Who Died in I-20 Crash ID’d

Pecos law enforcement officials have released the name of the female victim of the deadly Interstate 20 vehicle crash last Monday.

The fatality was identified as 19-year-old Araceli Gonzalez.

According to initial reports, Gonzalez was had been driving along the eastbound lane of I-20, 33 miles west of Pecos, when for yet unknown reasons, she drifted into the right shoulder of the road, crossed the center line, and drive into the opposing lanes. She then collided with another vehicle that was heading west.The force of the collision killed Gonzales on scene. DPS troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger in the second vehicle did not suffer from any injury. Both had seat belt on.

Area investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability.
