Passenger killed in wreck on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed in a wreck on the Eastex Freeway on August 9, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Alexis Bautista was traveling in a blue Chevrolet Malibu on the Eastex Freeway when he struck a light pole near the side of the freeway. They believe he may have been speeding. Several passengers were rushed to the hospital after the accident and one, Wendy Janeth Morales-Martinez, died of her injuries.
