Passenger killed in suspected DUI crash on Telge Rd near SE Cypress

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A young woman died early Friday morning after a single-vehicle collision near Telge Park in southeast Cypress, according to Click2Houston.
The fatal wreck occurred in the 12500 block of Telge Road at approximately 2:20 a.m.
Details are limited, but authorities said a 26-year-old female driver collided with a raised curb, causing her to lose control and slam into a tree.
Harris County sheriff’s deputies and Cy Fair Fire Department crews arrived to find a vehicle with severe damage to its passenger side.
A female passenger believed to be in her 20s died from her injuries at the scene, confirmed the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local trauma center, was placed under custody after displaying signs of intoxication at the scene. She has since been charged with intoxicated manslaughter.
