Passenger dies after wreck with suspected DUI driver in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 44-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle accident in the Spring Branch Central area of northwest Houston, reports Houston Police Department.
APD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the crash happened in the 9300 block of Long Point Road at approximately 3:40 a.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 21-year-old man was behind the wheel of a tan Isuzu Rodeo going west on the road when he ran a red light and struck a blue Toyota Corolla.
Authorities said the victim, who was in the front passenger seat of the Toyota, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Isuzu was taken into custody at the scene and was later charged with intoxication manslaughter.
