A fatal vehicle crash in Parker County near Church Road caused the death of a Boyd teenager last Tuesday evening.

According to initial reports, local troopers responded to Church Road near Twin Creek Road after they received a call reporting a collision at around 5:05 p.m. A 2013 Toyota Corolla was traveling along the northbound lane when, for reasons that had not been determined, it veered off the roadway and onto the right hand shoulder of the road. The Toyota then crashed into a guardrail, fell down into a creek bed, and landed on its side.

An occupant in the vehicle, identified only as an 18-year-old Boyd teenager, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

Local investigators have yet to determine the reason why the driver left the roadway.

We offer our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased victim. May God grant you the strength to go through this difficult time in your life. We believe that the Parker County Police will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

In the United States, Texas is one of the leading states in the number of traffic collisions involving fatalities. In fact, in 2015 alone, the state recorded more than 1,300 deaths caused by reckless drivers. Despite the government’s aggressive efforts to keep these cases down, Texas remains the worst state in the country for alcohol-involved car crashes.
