The 18-year-old boy who died in a fatal car accident on Church Road has been identified by Parker County local officials, last Tuesday evening.

Authorities identified the victim as Paul J. Mansmann, 18. According to initial reports, Mansmann was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla along the northbound lanes of Church Road near Twin Creek Road when, for yet unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway and crashed into a guardrail. The Toyota then fell into a creek bed and landed on the driver’s side.

Mansmann sustained serious injuries and was rushed into a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

The Department of Public Safety officials arrived at the scene to determine the reason why the vehicle left the roadway.

An investigation is underway.

We offer our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased victim. May God grant you the strength to go through this difficult time in your life. We believe that the Parker County Police will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

In the United States, Texas is one of the leading states in the number of traffic collisions involving fatalities. In fact, in 2015 alone, the state recorded more than 1,300 deaths caused by reckless drivers. Despite the government’s aggressive efforts to keep these cases down, Texas remains the worst state in the country for alcohol-involved car crashes.
