Parker County – Drunk Driving on Highway 199 Leaves 1 Dead

A man was killed after getting struck by a car on Highway 199, Wednesday.
Preliminary investigation shows that two people were had just exited a store when a passing vehicle drove into their path and struck one of the pedestrians. The male victim, identified as 51-year-old Ernest Medley was suffering significant injuries when responding officers arrived at the scene. He was declared deceased at the scene shortly after. Paramedics did not release information about the other pedestrian.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, whose identity has not yet been released, initially escaped the scene but was later located by Parker County police officials. He has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
No other information is available at this time as the investigation is still in progress.
