Paris law enforcement officials have identified the victim who died in a fatal car accident on US Highway 82 last week, Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as James Fletcher, 73.

At around 2:00 p.m., Fletcher was driving a pickup truck along the westbound lane of US Highway 82 when his vehicle hydroplaned and drifted into the path of another vehicle that was heading east. The impact of the crash seriously injured Fletcher, killing him in the process. Meanwhile, two occupants in the SUV, including the driver, were taken to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed at this time.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress. Local authorities believed that the weather may have played a role in the accident.
