Pampa – Train Collision on Starkweather Street

At least one person was killed following a train accident on Starkweather Street in Pampa, a local news source reported last Thursday.
The fatality was identified as 22-year-old Joaquin Salcedo.
At around 8:00 p.m., police received a call reporting a crash involving a pedestrian at the train intersection at Starkweather. When they arrived at the scene of the crash, they found a man lying in the ground, lifeless. The victim, who was identified as Joaquin Salcedo, a resident from Pampa, was pronounced deceased by emergency crews. Salcedo sustained fatal injuries due to the force of the impact.
No one else was injured.
Initial investigation shows that the train attempted to blow its horn to alert the victim but to no avail.
