Authorities have identified the man who died after getting involved in a car accident on Minnesota Road last Saturday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to fatal collision at the intersection of Minnesota Road and 2 Mile Line Road at around 3:30 p.m. DPS said that 1999 brown Mercedes Benz was heading east on Mile Line Road somehow collided with a southbound 2017 white GMC Yukon the said intersection. What led the crash is yet to be confirmed by local officials.

An occupant in the Mercedes Benz was killed on impact. He was identified as Javier Angel Vargas-Ayala, a 54-year-old Mission resident. The GMC Yukon was reportedly occupied by a female and a male but it was not confirmed if they suffered from an injury.
DPS continues to investigate the cause of the crash to determine liability.

Our deepest sympathies to the victim of this unfortunate event. We strongly believe that the Palmview Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.

Being a victim of a collision is an overwhelming experience. If you are a passenger in a car involved in a crash, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention for yourself and anyone who needs it. After this, you’ll want to alert your insurance provider regarding damages or injuries you sustained from the collision. To submit a claim, you would need to gather documents supporting your claim. These may include a video of the scene or a photograph of the damages to the vehicles, police reports stating the facts of the accident, and medical records indicating the severity of your injury, to name a few.
