HOUSTON, TX — A woman died early Tuesday morning when a driver crashed a stolen big rig into her mobile home in northwest Houston, reports ABC13.

Houston police said the incident occurred on 11500 McKinley Street hours after they received an alert about an 18-wheeler stolen from a local trucking company.

Officers were able to locate the truck after following its GPS tracking system, which prompted the suspect driver to flee.

The pursuit ended with the driver jumping out of the truck right before it slammed into the mobile home.

One woman in the home was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed authorities.

The woman’s husband, who was trapped under the 18-wheeler as a result of the crash, was rushed to a local hospital. He suffered severe injuries but is expected to survive.

Two other male occupants in the home were uninjured.

The causing driver, a 39-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries. According to police, he faces murder and reckless aggravated assault charges.
