One killed, one critically hurt in motorcycle wreck near SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A woman died early Monday after a fiery motorcycle accident that critically injured a man in southwest Houston’s Willow Meadows neighborhood, reports Click2Houston.
The fatal collision occurred in the 4800 block of West Bellfort Avenue, near South Post Oak Road, at about 3:05 a.m.
Details are limited, but Houston Police Department said a man and a woman appeared to have been riding a motorcycle southbound when the driver lost control. The bike then hit a sign, causing both riders to eject.
Patrol officers discovered the motorcycle covered in flames on South Post Oak. They then found both victims nearby, lying unresponsive on the ground. It was unclear who was driving the bike at the time.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed authorities.
Medics rushed the man to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
No other injuries have been reported.
South Post Oak Road was expected to remain shut down for hours to accommodate an investigation.
