HOUSTON, TX — One person died early Monday after a two-vehicle collision involving a USPS big rig on West Sam Houston Tollway North near northwest Houston, according to CW39.

The fatal accident occurred in the northbound lanes at West Gulf Bank Road, just north of U.S. Highway 290, shortly before 5:34 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the big rig collided with a passenger car.

All northbound lanes were shut down in the area as crews investigated the scene.

At 6:00 a.m., one lane was reopened for passing traffic, and by 9:00 a.m., the scene had cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened.
