One killed in collision with street sweeper near Spring

SPRING, TX – One person was tragically killed in a collision with a street sweeper near Spring this morning, the Houston Chronicle reports.
A street sweeper crew was working on Interstate 45 near Cypresswood Drive around 2:22 a.m. when a 1995 Montero Sport crashed into one of the street sweepers. After the crash, both the Montero and the street sweeper caught on fire. The driver of the SUV was unable to escape and was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the street sweeper sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
