One killed in collision on the Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A press release from the Houston Police Department reports that a man was killed in a collision on the Katy Freeway on Friday, July 3.
A red Ford Focus was reportedly disabled on in the westbound lanes located at 7600 Katy Freeway with its lights off. The driver of a white Chevrolet van, not seeing the vehicle, crashed into the back of the car. The driver of the Ford, a 43-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the van and two passengers suffered minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
