One dead after getting out of car on the East Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A person was killed early Wednesday morning after they exited their car on the East Freeway and were struck by a passing vehicle, KHOU 11 reports.
The driver lost control of their car and hit a median near Federal Road around 12:30 a.m. They pulled over got out of their car to assess the damage to their vehicle. A second motorist drove up to the individual and warned them to get back in their car. The first driver was hit by a third car and killed while the second motorist was pulling away from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
