Olton- 2 Died, 1 Seriously Injured in Highway 70 Collision

At least two people were pronounced deceased following a fatal vehicle crash on West US Highway 70, west of Plainview last Monday.
At around 3:00 p.m., Plainview Fire and EMS Department were notified of a collision near the intersection of West US Highway 70 and Sun Road. According to initial reports, a 2004 Dodge Ram hauling a Bobcat Tractor was heading east on the highway when the trailer detached and struck another vehicle that was traveling along the westbound lanes. Police said that the trailed collided head-on with the westbound car.
Three passengers had to be extricated from the wreckage. Local firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pull the victims out of the vehicle.
Olton police officials said that two victims died while an 18-year-old female occupant was rushed to University Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. She is expected to recover, as per medical crews.
This crash remains under investigation.
