Odessa– Victim of Hit-and-run Crash on 51st Street Dies

Odessa law enforcement officials confirm that the victim who suffered from injuries following a car accident on 51st Street last March 4 has passed away.
The fatality was identified as 72-year-old Manuel Luevano. According to reports, Luevano was in his vehicle near the intersection of 51st Street and Clover in Odessa when it was struck by a group of suspects had just burglarized a nearby Smoker’s Outlet. Said suspects fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Luevano sustained serious injuries from the force of the impact. He was rushed to Medical Center Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries after two months.
Authorities did not release any information about the driver who escaped. The vehicle involved was also not disclosed at this time.
The case remains under investigation.
