Odessa – Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Car Accident on South Dixie Boulevard

A 45-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased after getting into a collision on South Dixie Boulevard, Monday morning.
Odessa police said that the incident took place at 1100 block of South Dixie Boulevard near Clements, just after 6:00 a.m. According to initial reports, a motorcycle was heading south on Dixie Blvd when a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe failed to yield the right of way for the motorcycle resulting in a collision. A preliminary investigation indicates the Chevrolet was making a left turn when it struck the motorcyclist.
The rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
Drivers are urged to avoid the intersection as local responders clear up the road.
The Odessa Police Department is investigating the circumstances leading up to the accident. No charges have been filed at this time.
