Odessa – Louie Rico Jr Struck and Killed by Car on Interstate 20

Odessa law enforcement officials have released the name of the pedestrian who died after getting hit by a vehicle on Interstate 20, Sunday morning.
The fatality was identified as 23-year-old Louie Rico Jr.
Initial investigation shows that a vehicle was seen traveling along I-20 when it broke down at the middle of the highway due to some mechanical problems. The driver, Louie Rico Jr, stepped out of his car and walk across the highway where he was hit by a passing Dodge Challenger. Rico suffered from significant injuries and later died at the scene.
No other occupants were involved.
Local investigators did not release information about the driver of the Dodge. No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
