Odessa – 43-year-old Man Struck by Train on Murphy St

The man who died in a pedestrian vs train crash on Murphy Street in southeast Odessa has been identified by local officials.
Based on the Odessa Police Department release, the victim was identified as Rodolfo Hernandez, 43. Hernandez was reportedly at the intersection of Murphy Street and West Loop 338 when he was struck by a Union Pacific train. The impact of the crash left the pedestrian with serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews at the scene.
Fortunately, the driver and passengers in the train did not sustain injury from the crash.
