Nexton County – Two Injured in Auto Crash on Texas 62

At least two were sent to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 62 in Newton County, Friday night.
Just after 8:30 p.m., A 2007 Mitsubishi SUV had been traveling along the northbound lane when it crashed into a southbound 2001 Acura as it attempted to pass another vehicle heading north. Both drivers of the two vehicles sustained significant injuries and were rushed to St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. No details have been released on the condition of the two drivers.
Authorities did not disclose the identifications of the victims at the time.
The Newton County local police arrived at the scene to investigate further. They said the Mitsubishi driver was in a no-passing zone during the time of the accident. No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
